Overview
Mission: Greenacre Homes & School’s mission is to develop abilities, healthy relationships in boys and young men, and to transition them back to family based care.
Philosophy: Greenacre Homes & School’s vision is to provide trauma informed care with a strengths based, culturally relevant approach for ambulatory children/nonminor dependents ages 6-21. Greenacre Homes & School believes children/nonminor dependents are fundamentally resilient, capable, and relational.
Purpose: Greenacre Homes & School provides a therapeutic environment dedicated to healing the effects of trauma and loss, stabilizing behaviors, and readying children/nonminor dependents to step down to family based care within six months of intake.
Populations to be served: Greenacre Homes & School works with children/nonminor dependents placed by Child Welfare, Adoption Assistance, School Districts, and Probation.
Greenacre Homes & School ensures the best interests of all children, including culturally appropriate, child-centered practices that respect client’s culture, beliefs, history, and traditions.
Greenacre Homes & School provides parent coaching, support and education (around LGBTQ/SOGIE, sexually exploited children/nonminor dependents, trauma, development, Harm Reduction concepts and strategies, etc.), family therapy (can also be done via teleconferencing or in person), parent support groups, referrals to parent support groups in the community, 30 days of GAHS aftercare services, and for individual and/or family counseling.
Mental health services: Greenacre Homes & School provides or ensures access to the following direct mental health services and supports. Greenacre Homes & School provides the following mental health services:
- Mental health and behavioral assessments:
- Transition Plan
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Medication support services
- Family therapy and parent coaching
- Milieu counseling
- Day rehabilitation
- Crisis intervention
- Transition services (30 days aftercare)
