Vocational Training School receives two grants from Rotary Club of Sebastopol
The Rotary Club of Sebastopol has awarded a Community Grant and aTeacher Mini-Grant to the Greenacre Vocational Training School (VTS) to expand its Bike Repair program and its wireless Internet network. Funds will used to purchase an upgraded wireless router and range extender enabling a far-reaching Internet connection in and around the VTS workshop and garden area. Both students and teachers will be able to connect laptops and mobile devices to the school's network giving them access to servers, files and the Internet's abundance of resources that will help aid with teaching and gaining a better understanding of new subject matter. In addition, monies will be used to purchase much needed bike repair supplies including a bike stand, tools, tires, tubes, frames, helmets and various other related equipment. The bike program has become one of the most popular programs on campus enabling the students to see the result of their hard work and determination. The students are able to put donated bike parts together in order to sell the finished product to the public.....a wonderful feeling for all involved.
A huge heartfelt thank you goes out to Rotary Club President Edwin Wilson, Exchange Bank's Dorothy Rodella, the Rotary Club members and all their volunteers and donors that make this gift possible.
